Im looking for some info, im considering using solartubes on an upcoming build in our new home and we are in the designing stages. The home will be a single story with the tank in the finished basement, im wondering how far solartubes can go? From the roof to the basement will probably be around between 20'-24'. Im wondering how much light will actually reach the tank. The tank will be between 1000-1400 gallons. The tubes will run through a void in the 1st floor to the basement above the tank. Anybody thats using solartubes let me know how they are orking out for you and how much light you supplement.

I would reccomend reading this guys build: http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1431387&page=28 (post 684)

And his too: http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1827226&page=8 (post 182)

I personally dont think the light would go down that far but that's just me.

When you do get around to setting the tank up, please post a build thread! I would love to see another 1000g tank! What are you planned dimensions? :D

144"x48"x36"tall is the planned size, i would like to go longer but aquiring material longer than 12' is pretty hard to do
