Hi,
Which kind of clams are OK for bare bottom tank? Have you ever heard of a clam digging/boring into the glass of a tank? I'm going to get some clam from www.tanku.net in mid July. So, I would like to know b4 it's too late. If anything, I can lay the clam on a flat piece of rock right?

Thanks for the help

Maxima's and Crocea's are generally placed on live rock, or you could place them on scallop shells and then place them on the bare bottom.

Derasa is a good choice for a bare bottom tank. Also a squamosa is also. I would suggest clams over 4 inches because most likely they will not attach. These clams in nature use their weight to sit on the floor of the reef.
