View Full Version : so i think i just got my fish drunk!!

well i was doing my vodka dosing.
i was supposed to add 1.2 ml and i did 12ml.
dose anyone think i have to be worried?
240 gal dt, 30 gal sump, 60gal fuge, 35 gal frag tank all on one system 4 blue tang, blue eye tang,4 green crom's, moroon clown, and some z's and p's.

Might cause a bit of a bacteria bloom. Otherwise you should be ok, probably good to have a water change/carbon on hand.

We actually did this as an experiment when I was a kid in school, and fish do get drunk.
So, after seeing this in school, of course I ran home to do this in my own tank.
One shot, yep, fish got goofy, so of course I had to see what 2 shots would do.
They did some crazy loops, then floated...
I suppose it depends on tank volume, you may be ok, but I think I would be runnin carbon and probably do a good size WC to be safe.

well a a shot glass? 44.36ml i did 12ml in 300+gal tank.

So is tying your pet alligator to a fire hydrant in LA. Also, carrying ice cream in your pocket. Weird but true.

i started to see a bacterial bloom water got less clear and kinda cloudy.
well i turn off my biopellet reactor.
putt a big sack of carbon in my filter sock it has about 2000gph going thru it.
i added one more skimmer in my fuge.
hope this will stop the bacterial bloom from going crazy.
