I have been using the 5 gallong water cooler jugs for my ATO container. Could something with the kalk in my container be causing the plastic to break down? IF so would these be leeching anything terribly bad into my DT? My fish have been fine, but I have had a some GHA issues despite Nitrate/Phosphate reading at ~0.
I store RO/DI in these 5 gallon jugs with no issue. Though both bottles that have shown cracks/leaks have had kalk in them for around a month.
I recently switched to using a Dog Food container (8 gallons) to hold my ATO water, for now without Kalk. The conatiner is suppose to be food safe, but I don't know what these means for possiblity of it leeching while holding RO/DI water and/or Kalk solution.
