I'm rebuilding a 55 (http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2022041) and have added a fuge. Its high flow. I'd say 400 gal/hour in a 10 gallon. Any suggestions? I'm thinking I should add more LR to it? Or should I just let the Cheato grow and grow?

More live rock is always a good thing.

Curious why you want to have a high flow fuge. IMO one of the most important aspects of a fuge is so pods can reproduce without predation. Pods do not like high flow at all. I culture copepods and if the flow through the rigid tubing is too much then the pods do not reproduce nearly as much.

Agree, if you want pod population to grow, low flow better. If you don't care about that aspect, then high flow should be fine.

My fuge is low flow, but JAMMED with live rock and chaeto. I'm thinking about redoing it this weekend. Something to do anyway.

Well right now I just want to grow the Cheato. The fuge gets fed directly from the DT. I guess I can T off the line and put a valve on it having the remainder go to the sump.
