I am torn between making my plumbing slightly more complicated and using an external skimmer (which I would have to buy) and larger refugium vs having a much smaller refugium and an internal skimmer (already have a BK mini 200). The tank is a 32" cube, so most likely not a lot of reefing going on (light penetration to the bottom is not an option due to heat, electrical etc...considerations). Maybe some easy stuff, but it's really meant to be a fish tank. I did some measuring and I'm pretty sure a skimz external cone that's reasonably sized will fit under the stand with the current sump. I am thinking skimz because at least based on available online measurements seem to have the most space efficient externals

I'd probably skip the complex plumbing and go with the small fuge, especially because it will save you a good chunk of change

What kind of fish? Are you needing the extra fuge space to feed the fish (manderin, etc.)?

Fish list not final. Goldflake angel. Niger trigger. "Nemo" pair. I do like leopard wrasses. Mandarins not so much.

Leopard wrasses will appreciate the refugium.

Sounds like a familiar problem...I'm :deadhorse: that one right now too..
