I added a RBTA, another clownfish, a Flame angelfish, and a watchman goby this week. I have not seen the watchman goby for a few days so maybe the RBTA got him. Post pictures in a few days.

This tank came with the stand, pipes and bulkheads. I replaced all cardboard wood in the stand with poplar to make it a little sturdier.

I'd snatch that flame angel back out. Mine was fine for a couple of years but now pic's at any pink LPS. It will be easier to get him now than when the frag's get bigger and get in the way.

You'll know when he dies, your skimmer will be pulling purple liquid out like crazy and have a nice purple foam head.

Is that a red planet in the one pic?

Set up a fish trap. That flame has to go cause your tank and your pieces are too beautiful

The Flame is really small right now. Maybe 2" He hasnt been picking at anything yet. Im keeping a close eye on him. Ive always had flame angels and have never had any problems.

Yes thats a red planet.

I have a small bryopsis problem so im trying the sea hare to see if he will help. daily trimming and weekly water changes are helping also. Ive heard you can raise mag, but im not very good with the chemistry so i just do my weekly 10-15g water changes and that seems to keep things stable.

How did u get rid of bryosis?
Ive never been a big fan of adding chemicals to my tank so i tried everything to get rid of the Bryopsis. NOTHING WORKED. After everything else failed I used Kent Marine Tech M Magnesium to raise my Mag over 1500. I did it slowly over about 2 weeks. I went through 4 of the 16oz bottles. After almost a month it is basically all gone. My cleanup crew is dealing with the little bit left now. Somehow raising the Mag in your tank kills the Bryopsis and leaves everything else unharmed. SO EASY!!!

Looks great, where did you get the black sand from
Premium Aquatics usually carries black sand. I think that is where I got it.

Beautiful tank mate.

Is that a flatworm infestation starting? Looks like a lot of them on the rocks in a few of those pics from the 26th. If so, you're going to want to nip that in the bud now, those little buggers will be all over before you know it.

Nice looking tank though, love the coral selection and placement.

No clue on the flatworms, the are small redish spots. I figured it was just different color of coraline. I WILL be looking into it asap. Thanks so much.

This pic shows them well. Definitely look like red planeria to me.

I battled those guys for a while, they are a real pita to remove when there are a lot of them. Idk if there is a better method since I left the hobby, but manual removal of as many as you can followed by Flatworm Exit treatment used to be the way to go.

My avatar is a FW eating nudi that I had in my tank, he ate a ton and you can see how fat he was, but like the others people have had, he disappeared before all the worms were eaten. I wouldn't recommend getting one.

Thanks Jgalvin! Ive never had a fish jump, but I try to start away from fish that trend to jump. I'm getting a piece of glass cut to use as a lid so I can get jumping fish in the future.

I got a sixline wrasse today and flatworm exit. I am declaring war on my flat worms!

Update #1
Thursday Night

I took a hose and connected a mesh net to the bottom with a zip tie. I used this to siphon all the flatworms out. I felt like i got 80% of the visible flatworms, but i know that for every one i see, there is one more hiding.

I then added 48 drops of Flatworm exit.

Within 10 min i could tell that it was working.

Within 20 min most of the flatworms were floating around in the tank. I took a old net and scooped as many as possible out.

after 40 min I did a 10 gallon water change (57g tank)

Its a hour later now and everything seems fine. No loses as of this point.
Im going to do the same treatment tomorrow evening also.

As of now i think its a success.

I'm just ordered the same one, should get it in a month or so :( In the meantime, I was going to build a stand for it. I know the dimensions are 36x18x21, but what is the length, width, and height of the black border on the bottom of the tank?

Thanks,

I dont have a tape on me right now, but the black borders extend about a 1/4 inch on all sides. So it would say its roughly 36 1/2 x 18 1/8.

Its been a week and no flatworms have returned. The sixline is still fat as can be, so i figure he is eating all the remaining one.

So ive beat Bryopsis Algae and Flatworms in the past 2 months. Whats next? Bring it REDBUGS...........(i hope not)

Updates:

This tank sat for almost a year with minimal maintenance. I did a water change every 2 months and fed the 2 clownfish, but thats about it. Life happens!!! Ive started it back up again and this time I have the goal to get small frags to grow out when i upgrade to a larger tank in the near future.

I also moved the tank to the other side of the room to allow for a bigger computer desk. I lost a few of the livestock in the move due to stress, but im really happy with the tank as of now.

The Liverock has tons of caves, but all of them are visible from more than one side of the tank making very few hiding spots for the fish.
