I have a new 15 litre Pico Reef in the maturing stages, I added the bulk of my LR a few days ago and today I noticed a hitchhiker that has finally emerged from the rock.

My own instincts from freshwater fishkeeping suggest a snail however I'm not 100% convinced. It's approximately 3-4mm in length and pale in colour with what apppears to be a shell. It also has a small extension to its body that extends and retracts to pull itself along the glass.

Can anyone give me a positive ID and tell me whether or not I should remove it or leave it be?

P.S. Sorry about the size of the picture, it's the only way to actually obtain any sort of detail due to its size.

Not sure, but it looks like a Nassarius snail.

Nassarius snails have a pretty long proboscis. Does it travel in the direction of the extension or away from it?

it's either nassarius, peppermint http://www.melevsreef.com/id/peppermint_snail.html or columbellid/strombus snails
