Im going to order a 24"x24"x10" frag tank this week. Would a 24" 6 x t5 fixture be ok for mostly sps in this shallow tank, or would I be better off going with a metal halide fixture?

That should work jus fine as long as the reflectors and the fixture itself is of quality... individual reflectors are very important with t5s imo... a 250 watt halide would work great also... again, given its a.quality product... jmo... GL

yep it will work with the right light combo and individual reflectors. i have a 24inch X 2 bulb with wave point coral wave and blue wave bulbs in it. the par sucks at 10" but i have a coralife 2-bulb ho, and thats stock cruddy relector. so 4 bulbs and individuals should work Really well i would say
