Where do I start.. I've been a reefer for quite a few years and tough I've never had the opportunity to "settle down" and let my tank grow in I have had some great deals come and go. One such deal was this oceanic tech 150 that was just over a year old and came from a in-wall setup. The guy traded me my 125 Tank Stand and light fixture for his Tank/Stand/Light Fixture. The trick was I had to deliver my tank/stand/light fixture to Downington PA... 4 hour drive. Fortunately I have an understanding dad and a great best friend and together my friend and I borrowed my dads ram and got the delivery done. I won't bore you with what drove me to the new tank other than to say... I love 6ft Tanks.. but I hate the cost of 3 metal halides as well as the additional cost extra watermovement and the inability to grab newer light fixtures/tech because it's always cost prohibitive when you move past 4 feet. Also.. I wanted starphire glass, lifetime warranty, and the DEPTH that a 150 afforded. Without further ado... here are the specs..!!

So Current is out of the biz. As a result a LOT of their products are now backordered expensive and hard to find. I needed a hanging kit and one was no where to be found online.... I was able to purchase a CORALIFE hanging kit.. I had to mod it a bit..
Caps and Plate in the ceiling.. using TAPCON screws and butterflys

Your old/current tank is amazing.
I don't know how you guys keep them so pristine.

Your old/current tank is amazing.
I don't know how you guys keep them so pristine.
Skimming, Carbon, Ozone and keeping my glass clean, Sides and Rear Panels as well as a decent clean up crew to handle nuisance. I run a shallow sand bed and every water change I end up mixing up the sand and siphoning off the crud that settles back on the sand.
After viewing my options for sand I went with the tried and true caribsea reef floor special. A mix of Fiji Pink(live) and normal Dry aragonite. In total 3 40lb bags and 1 20lb bag should make for a fine sand bed.
Since this tank is a lot taller than my old tank I decided to reorder and rebuild my pillars. I made a order for usplastics last night for some acrylic rods. Last time I used 1/2"... It was a bit tedious to work with as the holes were so big!!! This time around I ordered 3 sizes and the total was 20 bucks shipped
12ft of 1/4"
12ft of 3/8"
12ft of 5/16"
The general Idea is that starting with a large heavy base rock, I can drill it in multiple directions and locations and create my own structures. Best I can assemble the structures in the tank . The Openings on the tech tank are large enough that I CAN build larger structures OUTSIDE of the tank and then angle them in. My reasoning is that if my rock is attached and solidly built then god forbid I need to tear down quickly... or track down a rogue fish that after removing my corals I won't have to re-scape my tank.

Tagging along. Looks like a good size of tank. I see the dimensions but what is the height? the 30 or 24?

the height is 30" high - thanks for tagging along I'll have a slew of new pictures up tomorrow. I was able to get new rodi filters for the new tank. tomorrow I start filling... I've been contemplating picking up 2 filtersock holders but their cost for what they are are a bit prohibitive...
