Hi Everyone,

Last night, while doing a water change, I found 2 nerite snails behind the tank stand. Both were quite dry and both were closed. I have no idea how long the snails where out of water (certainly no more than 2 weeks). For the moment I've placed them in the bucket containing the old aquarium water and one did start to open after about 10 minutes. But I'm wondering what these guys' chances realistically are? I'm also curious about the reason for the Harry Houdini act.

Water params (measured using the old water):

Ammonia: undetectable
Nitrite: undetectable
Nitrate: undetectable
Phoshpate: < 0.25 ppm (prompting a change of GFO media)
Ca: 480ppm
dKh: between 10 and 11

Pretty good actually, they face dry times in nature. Toss them back in the tank.

Yep, they are intertidal snails and can stay out of the water for quite some time.

I actually notice my snails like to clean around the top of my tank above above the water line, kinda weird that they crawl out of the water lol

They should be fine. Every water change i usually find 1 behind my tank and just put them back in.
