Seems a lot of folks are switching RSCP. Is it better than what you had?
What do you like about it?
thanks

I have been using it for about a year now...I really like it with the exception of alk which is kinda low. Having said that, growth has been fantastic with it.

I use it & everyone in my tank seems happy. The batch I just opened is in the new black bucket, & it mixes a lot better than my last batch.

I get a brown sludge in the bucket with Red Sea Pro compares to the IO I switched from. So far I don't notice any different as I only did 4 water changes with it.

Dont you guys think its parameters are rather high? I used the old pro, but when they switched to the new formula they raised everything alot higher than I think most would want it..
I mean at 1.023 it is advertised to have 450 ca 1340 mg and 12.2 adkh.. I cant calculate the change to 1.026 but im pretty confident in sayin they would be even higher.
Im pretty sure ideal conditions (at least where I run my tank are about 420 ca, 7-7.5 dkh, and 1250-1300 mg)

I always got lower values than their advertised levels but haven't checked it recently. I have a batch ready to do a WC tomorrow so I'll try to check it & post results.

Fresh water:
SG - 1.026 (refractometer)
alk - 5.5 meq/L (Seachem)
Ca - 375 ppm (Seachem)
Mg - 1325 ppm (Seachem)

So yikes - that is a high alk value and a fairly low Ca value. Everything is subject to my test methods & test kits but I would think I'm in the ballpark.

I love it! I can't see changing! I tried IO, RC, Coralife, and Seachem Reef, the only reason I switched from Seachem was the 500 calcium it had. The new RSCP is better than the old. It dissolves better

I use it with great results. I do have low alk levels though. Im working on that now.

I switched from instant ocean and I love it! dissolves better than IO imo and my parameters are much more to my liking. My magnesium was super low with instant ocean and I don't feel like I should have to dose yet with the little amount of corals I have. :) Just make sure it's the new black bucket and you should be good.
What's weird though is it seems I need less salt than IO. Again I mixed my water today for a water change tomorrow and I used 20 1/2cups in 30 gallons of water and my salinity was 1.026.

Thanks! The next fish planned are probably a firefish, tailspot blenny, exquisite wrasse and a yellow eye kole tang :)
I like gsp but I'm not ready for invasive corals yet. I am planning on getting more high flow corals to fill the top out and probably more zoanthids in different colors. My husband wants a bubble coral lol. I want an anemone for my clowns as well but I haven't decided what kind yet.
