I found theses things on my flame algae today.
They do look like minature xenia,
and i am afraid they might be hydroids.
i MAY NOT have hydroids since this is a dwarf seahorse tank (will be)
they retract to their tubes when i touch them, so i thought they might be baby feather dusters.
They also pulse, like xenia.
I was wondering what these were
two pictures included, flash and with none.

They look like little feather duster worms to me. Especially if they pulse closed and pull into their tubes.

Here's a picture of Hydriods from one of my tanks some time ago:

I have a small clump of them but they don't seem to spread or anything. I understand they can sting so I try to be careful when reaching in the tank for anything. Other than that, what's their downside?

I have had small batches of 3-5 hydroids here and there on one piece of LR. I was picking them with tweezers whenever I saw new batches to keep the rock clean. Eventually I just got tired of it and was also in a process of moving so I didn't pay too much attention to the tank.
Two months later when I moved and set-up everything again, on the underside of the rock, was a larger batch of 15-20. So if you leave hydroids they tend to multiply and spread.
However what bluemon has is not hydroids. I am not sure for feather fusters as it's a very strange place to grow.

They look so pretty! :)
How big were they?
I am keeping dwarf seahoreses, so any hydroid is basically death.
