I bought one of these and it seems to be really slow at filtering water. I have a couple of questions for those that have this unit.

1) What is your water pressure coming out of the RO unit? Mine is about 52-54 psi.

2) Is the DI canister suppose to fill up with water? Mine only gets about 3-4 inches in it.

Thanks

thats just about the same as mine, I have the 6 stage BRS unit my psi in is around 55-60 psi and my DI chambers fill up about halfway, it takes me about 11 hours to make around 50 gal or so.

I have the same unit as you and about the same pressure. Mine seems slow too but if you think about it...75gpd is only 3.125g/hr, not real fast. I tested mine by filling a gallon jug and it took right around 20min...so just about right.

My water pressure was about 50, and I have the 150 GPD upgrade so I put a booster pump on. Now my pressure is 75. Also realize that for every gallon of RO/DI that you make, you are putting between 3 and 4 gallons down the drain in waste water.

And your DI is fine. I see this question on here almost every other day.

Thanks everyone.

I have the 150 gpd upgrade already on the way. Will I be able to use it without the booster pump?

Also my system has the membrane back flush. Did I need to get a second one for the upgrade?

I have the 4 stage and it works out to be around 3 gallons per hour. I have about 60 psi going into the unit. It's slow but it works :)

I contacted BRS about the DI canister and they said it's normal if the water doesn't fill it all the way and it won't hurt the performance of the unit.

I just bought the same unit. Pressure, flow, etc are as advertised. I'm happy with the 75 gpd. How big is your tank?

Althought BRS says that having the DI cannister only half full or even less is normal, it still bothered me. They suggested opening the top to let the trapped air out. I just turned the unit sideways with the output tube pointing upward while the system was running, and that got rid of the air. Easier and less messy.

It is recommended that you have at least 65PSI to use the upgrade kit. This means you will need to get a booster pump.

Yes, I saw that in the online video but I'm asking here if others have the upgrade without it and it's working fine. My water pressure going into the unit is about 57psi. Coming out of the RO it runs about 52-54psi.

My main water pressure was 35, and I got the booster pump to increase pressure to 70. You should get the booster pump, it'll also make the unit more efficient.

I get 60 psi and my DI fills up a few inches...5 stage here
Takes right around 20 min to fill a gallon
