Well I've been holding off starting this thread untill I started getting things together for it. I would like to start off thanking Pedro for ugrading and handing the 90 over. This build has been a slow one. I already have a tank that is thriving but I have also ran out of room. So now its time to up grade.
Here are some pics of the tank being cleaned after a long vinegar bath.

I have also been reading up on Algae Turf Scrubbers.
This is what I have been mainly reading http://reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1977420
After alot of reading I have decided to give it a try on my tank. This is my first attempt at it and according to the people on the thread above, I am not far off from a successful ATS.

This brings us all the way from March 27th when I got the tank to now.
Today I decided to do a mock up of the tank plumbing to see if what I had envisioned would work. And It looks like its gonna work. Today I also bought a 40gal sump from Ben which I will be picking up tommorrow.

Today during my school lunch brake I went to lowes and did what this thread told me to do. LOL!
http://www.remsreef.com/2011/04/lamp-tree-as-easy-as-1-2-3.html
I brought them home and after the mock up, I sized them ut and cuth them so they could be the depth of the tank and 15 inches above the tank.

And this bring us up to date. I will update as soon as I do more to the tank.
This build will have plenty of pics to go with it.

One more addition, after some advice from the build thread master Jay, I ordered some nylon threaded rod and went to lowes and bought some nylon nuts and washers. I will be ordering some epoxy putty and a 5/16 drill bit in the near future as I will also buy some dry rock. I have not decided wether to bur marco rock or reef rocks. Please give your info.

ok so the tank is slowly making its way in the house. Today I finally moved the tank up to the balcony. Jay came over to make some measurements for the brackets that he is going to fabricate for me. I mock assembled things again so Jay could see what we were working with. I also threw the hanging trees in on the pics. I think they look sweet. here are some pics

One more update:
I just recieved two Tunze 7091 controllers that I will be using to control 2 Tunze nano streams 6055. I am also planning to add a tunze nano wavebox but all of that will come after I buy both LED light fixtures that I need for the tank.

The rock is currently being soaked in 3:1 water to vinegar bath to get some of the stuff out of the rock. water seams clean so far. Ill try to get an aqua scape and beer thing going on Monday so I can get all of the new rock secured. Ill let you guys know by tommorrow.
I kept playing with the formation of the rocks and this is what i want one island to look like. We all know it never ends up the same twice.

Update: Well Yesterday Andy and Pedro came by the house and we had all intentions of doing something productive to the tank but that took a back seat to the beers. LOL!
Today I recieved an acrylic filter sock holder and it looks like I calculated things right. It is going to work perfectly.

another update:
Today I started cutting some plywood that I got from Andy (thanks dude!). I still need to cut one or two more holes on the wood in order to get air flow and cables in and out of the stand.

update:
I painted the plywood last night. today I drilled the plywood back in place. Still need to cut some holes on the second piece. Next step is to dis assemble the plumbing take the tank off the stand, and clean and touch up the stand. After that my girl is gonna hate me because im going to put the stand in the living room. I will start to cycle the dry rock later today so it can be ready in a couple of weeks.

I am still debating on using a 5 gal fish tank as my top off reservoir of try to find a container that has the same dimentions as the glass tank but taller. It is a very tight fit in the stand as the 40 gal sump is taking up most of the space.

Update:
Yesterday after the meeting I went home and drilled some hole on the plywood and painted over the holes.
http://i1132.photobucket.com/albums/m579/mistaflicksta/0627112000.jpg
Today I cut some egg crate to size and placed it in the tank.
http://i1132.photobucket.com/albums/m579/mistaflicksta/0627111959.jpg
I also did a large water change and used the old water to start cycleing the dry rock.
http://i1132.photobucket.com/albums/m579/mistaflicksta/0627111958.jpg
The plan for tommorrow is to ckean up the stand and touch up the scratches. Then into the living room it goes! :) I feel an argument with my lady coming on. OOOOpppss! LOL

Ladys and gentle men, we have breached the apartment!. The stand is now in the living room. I had to make a stand for the Top off water, paint is currently drying. I forsee tommorrow, the tank will also breach the apartment. :) Then the gluing of the plumbing will start. YaY!

Well I love the look so I ordered the second one. For the time being I am going to hang it over the 56gal to see how it looks there (more to come on that tommorrow). We got water! today Pedro and I did a full wet test run on the tank and thank god it all worked out. The tank is silent with the doors closed. with the doors open all you hear is the faint trickling from the ATS and a low hum from the return pump. we also played with the nano Wavebox a bit and got some nice waves going. we didnt tune it to perfection but it still worked nicely.
