I was just wondering if anyone has any thoughts on this thing that I just noticed. My tank has been cloudy for a couple of weeks and it is my understanding that it maybe due to bacteria. Two days ago, I was worried that since my tank had this issue that I turned on an aerator in the sump to pump oxygen back into the tank. The following day I was surprised to see my tank totally clear up. I tried skimming wet and water changes to reduce the cloudiness but nothing really worked until the aerator. Is there any rationale for this?

FYI, all my params were in check: Alk 8-9, SG 1.025, PH 8.2, Nitrate 0, Ammonia 0, Nitrite 0, Phosphates 0.02, Temp 79, water change 5% every week...

Interesting. I would have thought your skimmer would introduce plenty of oxygen and the air stone wouldn't make much of a difference.

A coincidence. I see no correlation between the two. You were already aerating the water with your protein skimmer. The skimmer probably removed the bacteria.
