View Full Version : White vs. Black sand

im starting up my first salt water tank.... a 29 gal biocube. and i dont know which sand to go with. i cant make up my mind. what are the cons of each one. AND please post pics of your tanks, whatever color sand it is to help me decide. :) THANKS!!!!!

black is really really nice if you can keep it clean but eventually rocks will break and get in the sb and take away from the aesthetic appeal of the black sand. Granted it still looks good just not first week kind of good. I prefer the bimini pink or the fiji pink from caribsea. Try and stay away from the sugar grain sand as it will blow around for a while and if you ever get any type of cleanup crew that digs in the sand or a sand sifting goby or pistol shrimp they will make a mess of your tank really quick with the sugar grain. Either way you go I'm sure you'll be happy with it.
