Hey guys,
So ive had a 120gallon tank running for almost a full year, prior to that ive had a 55g and a 20g and been in the hobby for 4 years. Ive grown a different direction with scuba and my interests..
So I want to know who has done this, im looking to stop coral and basic fish, looking to move towards a more predator based tank.
After diving in hawaii and amoungst all the scorpion fish I really want to do a fish from that family, wether a stone fish, frog fish or scorpion fish. Also want to do a lionfish and a snowflake eel. My tank is 4x2x2. I need to know if this is a bad idea or if my tank is of size to do this. I have more than enough rock to do this and more than enough sand. I would sell off my coral with the exception of some NPS sun corals, and vacate most of my fish.
Currently have a yellow tang, figi foxfish, mandrin, lawnmower blenny, cardinal, chromis.
What would I need for the change over.. I know I would need a tank top so the eel doesnt try to find out if he is a air breather.. but anything else? I currently have a 8 bulb Tek-Light running 4 dawn/dusk and 4 daylight bulbs with 3 night lights, I think that is over kill with no intended corals, what would the lighting need to be switched too..
Thanks guys, all the information I can get before I follow through would be invalueable!
