After a year layoff, I have decided to get back into the "habit" I have set up a small 3.5 gallon on my desk at work. I have never had a nano and I am curious about the nuiances. I have about 2 pounds of live rock and 5 lbs of live sand. Approximately how much and how often do I need to make a water change during the initial cycle of the tank. I am using a small whisper filter filled with LR and plan to do a full 4 week cycle. I have no plans to add any damsels, or dead shrimp to aid the cycle. I have ten years under my belt in larger reefs and aggressive systems, but I am a noob again with this nano.
Thanks in advance

I'm no expert on nano tanks, but...
A partial WC during any initial cycle isn't necessary, especially if you're not keeping any fish yet. I don't think size matters (in this case anyway ).
Once the cycle is complete, do a large WC and you're all set.

I am of the opinion that a 3.5 is far too small for a perc once grown. There are some fish that would do fine, but they are much smaller.
