Hello all.

I have been away from fish tanks for far too long. To give a brief background, I had two tanks up and running in about 2002 - 2003.
1 - 46g bow front, with 2 250w MH HQI, 100#'s of rock, various fish, coral etc.
I then down sized to a 10g tank with 1 250w MH HQI. Yes, it was hot, was evaporating about 1g / day. Successfully kept a clam in there.

I had to part it all out when Imoved from the east coast to sunny California.

I'm looking to start up again, however this time I'm looking for something small (no space for a 46gbow) and something that is self contained.

So i was thinking of a 8g biocube, or a 14g. Do not want to go larger.

What are my options? And what about lighting? I've been reading up, but there are too many options now. I'm getting lost more and more :( LED's? MH in a confined state?
:headwally:

PS. I'll try to find pictures of my old tank. :)

I am about in the same situation as you. I am doing a 10 gallon AGA. I have a 150w MH but looking for answers re: LEDs. I have found a lot of posts on ecoxotic LEDs that I think 1-2 would do good for a 10 gallon or a 8 or 14 gal Biocube. In the long run I think LEDs will be the way to go.
