Purchased some live rock with Kenyan tree and mushrooms on it Friday night. Put it in...and Saturday they opened up. They looked happy and healthy. Today after coming home from work they are starting to close up again. Not sure what to do...

12 gal eclipse ~8 pounds of live rock. Salt at 1.022...don't know nitrates or anything, didn't buy a kit for that yet. Temp is at 77F...

I put my tank on an automatic timer and it looks like it came off earlier than planned when I got home from work, just a half an hour ago.

Is this normal for sleeping or what?

You need to raise your salinity up (slowly) to 1.025-1.026 for corals right now I'm guessing they are ****ed of due to low salt levels. Your kenya tree is pretty much indestructible and mushrooms are forgiving as well. So they should be fine when you fix the salinity:)

.....yes your corals will close up or shrink at night and its totally normal.

if u came home at night its completely normal. Corals will naturally open during the day and close at night. Some actually do the opposite!

And if it was in the day, then ur salinity is low, i like to keep mine at 1.025 for a reef. Also if your not testing, you have to start now. Putting a creature in water that is of poor quality is not fair to the coral so you have to know whats high and whats low so you can adjust it with things like water changes, etc. JMO

How slowly? Like within hours or within days?

Days, just raise it a little every day for the next few days.
