This thing just showed up out of nowhere a few days ago. I have no idea what it is, but I must admit, it is kind of kool looking!

Lol that is a huge pic but extremely clear shot. I'm not sure what it is but where is it?? Is that the side glass?

That's the little "trap door" cover from a turbo snail. When they pull inside their shell they pull this in behind to block the opening. This means there is, or was, a dead snail in your tank.

yeah I agree...I can never get my canon DSLR to focus on macro shots like that...i think it's mainly because i'm an awful photographer though!

Ha! Thanks, it wasn't even taken with a DSLR, it was taken with a point and shoot. Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS7, to be honest, I could have got an even clearer shot if I would have went into manual macro mode, that pic was taken in IA mode (Intelligent Auto Mode).
