So I finally got my tank. The oak tank I wanted was on back order for over a month so the manager felt bad and gave me the black trim tank for 50% off.

I got all the componets I need so now I just got to install some dividers. Its going to be a skim/fuge/return set up. The max level on the skimmer is 15 " so I guess Ill make the first divider 15" high and then the diveder before the return I plan to make 14 1/2" high. This should make it so my heaters have plenty of water before the min mark.

Do these measure sound like they will work out ok?

15" high baffles sounds high. I would do 12" at the most. See what your skimmer performs the best at - usually 8" - 10"

I try to maximize the amount of water in the sump, so I set my 1st baffle an inch or two below the tank rim and build an egg crate stand to bring the skimmer up to the proper level. This also allows you to change to a different skimmer by only adjusting the stand height, not tear the entire sump apart.

That skimmer if im correct cause i have a similar model only goes in 9" of water or the water cant go higher than the outlet pipe. Thats what I would go by. Fill it up with salt water and do a test run to see where it would work best at

So if thats the case I can I just raise the skimmer up 5" on egg crates or something and then my 15" height will work?

Yes, which is why I go with the deepest baffles possible. You just change your platform height instead of baffle height.
