I am moving (the tank to the basement not across town :spin1:) and working over my 120 and am looking to go more minimalist. I was wondering the best way to create tall "islands" that have a small footprint and won't topple. I am planning on moving much of the live rock to the sump and have a more open look but some of my sps need to be high. I remember reading about acrylic dowels or something like that but don't know much about it. Anybody have any ideas?

go to your local homedepot...you can buy driveway markers....they are 1/4" fiberglass rods about 5' long...you will also need a 5/16" masonary bit, drill some holes through the rocks and push the rods in...you may want to use 2 part epoxy t make sure the rocks dont turn or twist on you...as for not toppling over, you need some sort of counter balance, a large flat piece of rock under the sand will work, just dowel and two part it to your pillar..
