I know 20g stranded wire is the norm however i have a surplus of 14g copper stranded 12v primary wire in various colors left over from a vehicle wiring job.
Would this wire still work?? Any downsides? I was thinking maybe it would be to tough to solder to small connections i dont know.

Also does it matter how close the drivers are to the leds?? Like can i mount the controller and drivers in the stand cabinet and run 10-12' of wiring in a loom to the leds? I might even get creative and make plugs for eazy removal of fixtures.

14g copper wire would be okay, but the problem there is that it could possibly ground the LED out if any part of the exposed wire is touching the pcb not directly on the solder pad (the wire itself might be as wide as the soldering pad). Be very careful when you're soldering that large of a wire.

It doesn't really matter (within reason) how far the drivers are to the LEDs.

All right thanks, Ill see how it looks, wire would be cheap to get rather than risk shorting my leds.
