Hey All,

My new tank will be here Wednesday-ish and I need to know how many guys to bring over to move it.
Does anyone know of an online calculator so I can get an approximation of its weight?

It is 48x48x24 with 3/4" glass.

Thank you,
Sean

That sounds like an awesome tank! Four feet square must make it the centerpiece of a room somewhere. I put it in http://www.hibid.co.uk/metcalc/metcalc.html and got about 486lbs. 1 sheet @ 48"x48"x3/4" and 4 sheets @ 24"x48"x3/4"

I would have guessed about 500 lbs but the calculation supplied sounds more accurate. The more important calculation is how much beer you will need. Sounds like an awesome tank!

4 (non-wimpy) guys. 8 beers minimum. Preferably have suction cup handles to lift tank (otherwise some toes will be in jeopardy)

glass is 162 lbs/ cubic foot

the sides total 2 cubic feet
the bottom totals 1 cubic foot

3*162 = 486 lbs.

Thanks all.
It's a Miracles tank customized to my specs.
It arrives Wednesday and replaces my acrylic tank which cracked.

it comes in a big huge heavy duty wooden crate. you would certainly need a heavy duty dolly. i have tile floors, so we just laid it on a thick blanket and dragged it to the room the tank went in. then with 4 guys it was fairly easy to lift and put on the stand. mine came out to be 435lbs tank only.

congratulations on the tank. hope it goes well!

I got this beast delivered Thursday.
It took 4 of my biggest bouncers to carry it in. :eek2:
