These get rather large and need a lot of food/feedings to thrive. Most people take a pass on these fish.

goatfish get quite large, and are not recommended for anything but the largest of aquariums... for a mature fish, your tank will not cut it... not even close... sorry :(

10 inches is an accurate size estimate. I wouldn't put a ten inch fish in a 6 foot tank. The other problem is these things are like giant anthias and are constantly foraging for food. They usually don't do well in home aquaria because they eventually starve to death or die from malnutrition

ty. i was under the impression that they are just bottem dwellers and would eat anything that sinks. not the case :o i will stick to the more common fish
