Hi,
I have an issue with my Wavebox 6215--the box has intermittently powered off and could not be remedied to turn back on until I unplugged and plugged the power cord back in. After some searching on this and tinkering (cleaning of the unit, turning off the photocell, reattaching cords, etc) I have found the 24v resistor/fuse seems to have corroded. I took it out today and most of the surface is corroded and one pin is missing. When I put the resistor back in the unit will power on momentarily and blink then turn immediately off.

1. Is the problem the fuse/resistor, and if so, where can I obtain a replacement?

2. If not, what could be the next likely culprit?

Thanks!

This is very likely the issue, however, I would replace the entire power supply as the moisture has likely damaged the power supply as well and it will eventually fail and I am not sure how you could remove the pin that broke off the jumper.

I would also check that the drive unit turns freely on the titanium shaft, the shaft stays stationary and only the magnet and prop spin, a common issue is some sand or detritus or calcium binding the drive unit to the shaft, to test this you need to remove the drive unit, holding the shaft steady and being sure the prop and magnet can spin on the shaft. Parts can be ordered on Tunze.com, power supply is 6105.240.

Thank you for the fast response!

The magnet does spin freely. The power supply doesn't appear to have any moisture damage--so I'm gonna see how long the jumper will work or else just get a power supply.

On the jumper, I see two options, 62101.240 and 6105.240--assuming since the power supply you said is part # 6105.240 I need the 6105.240 jumper, but I wanted to just verify--Which one is the appropriate jumper?

Thanks,
-Brandon

Thanks Roger!

Turns out I can't get the old jumper out anyway. I opened the box up for exploration (man was that tough to open!) and the insides were very corroded! I guess the previous owner didn't keep it from getting wet.

I work at a fish store, is there anyway I can get this replacement through wholesale to save me a couple of bucks?

Thanks again,
Brandon

Also,
I can't seem to locate the power supply on the website. You indicated I needed power supply # 6105.240 but I can only find 6101.240--is this the appropriate power supply?

You could call me or order it from Champion, NAWS, or Premium Aquatics at wholesale pricing.

Hey Roger,
Thanks again for the quick response.

We routinely deal with NAWS so I will see what can be done there, but I know we would definitely be interested getting stuff straight from Tunze. If you could PM me your contact number I would be greatly appreciative. Also the fax so we can send over other pertinent information?

Thanks again!
