Tank = 29 gallons

Flow = 650 gph + a hob filter (penguin 200) does 200 gph used only for circulation

Filtration = about 40 lbs live rock, hob nano skimmer

Corals = trumpets, BTA, Devils Hand, Torch, Hammer, Mushrooms, Xinia, and about 6 zoa frags

Fish = Two Maroon Clowns, 3 chromis, Yellow watchman

Inverts = About 8 Hermits, Blue Spiny Lobster, Cleaner Shrimp, 1 olive snail, 1 turbo snail,

Water Levels = Perfect just got them tested yesterday, salt may be a little off but not very much

1. Okay so I have the little white things ( they look like hairs) growing all over the glass and they come back every time as well as algae (not coralline its only on my rocks) spots along the sand line. What can I do to stop this and what can I add to my clean up crew will clean my glass well?

2. Also I have like white sponge balls starting to for all over the tank what are these and how do I get rid of them?

How long has this tank been set up? Knowing this will help determine the problem if it's a problem at all. A lot of what you are describing sounds like a new tank cycle.

Slowwwwwwwwwwwww down. That is a lot of livestock for a 29 two month old tank.

Flow = 650 gph + a hob filter (penguin 200) does 200 gph used only for circulation

So no filter media is in it? Any other filtration? Sump?

hob nano skimmer

Specs on it?

Are you using RO/DI water?

This sounds normal for a new tank cycle and we can't give you a step by step but will help when we can. Do some research here and on the interwebs. But it looks like you got off on the wrong foot here.

Hi Roush,

If they look like spider webs the are probably vermitids. Not harmful and the go away over time.
