So Im no expert fragging zoas, but Ive had some success recently

Question

Some of my new zoa frags are being covered in algae............should I attempt to remove the algae or will this irritate the zoas?

If I leave the algae alone will it go away or smother the new zoa frags?

thanks guys!!

if they are healthy you can pretty much do whatever you want to them, i have fragged zoas by just ripping them apart and they grew babies in no time (not that i recommend that but it worked for me). If your worried try a soft tooth brush.

remove the algae

Yes remove the algae. Determine why you are having algae problems. High phosphates, over feeding etc. Find the root cause, correct the problem and take preventative action :)
