i just bought a clownfish today from the lfs who treats their tanks with copper, so im kind of relieved i prob will not get diseases. i also put my clown from the DT into the QT so they can get comfortable with each other before i put them in a bigger tank. i set up the tank yesterday and did a 50% water change today. before the water change i found 20 ppm of ammonia, so thats the reason for the water change. is this a good setup?

10g tank
HOB filter with a carbon cartige
aerating powerhead (for oxygen)
heater
lights

how often for water changes? anything else i need?

Keep a close eye on those ammonia level. You did the right thing doing a large water change but it make take several more to keep NH3 levels in check.
