Filter Sock Efficiency

Hey guys,

i have a 58 gallon established reef tank. I have a 180 that i just cleaned out and cooked all my live rock ( reason for breakdown was pests... ie asterina's, majomo's, kenya tree, large vermitid snails, and mushrooms ) * i want an sps only tank and it was overrun by this stuff

so i was wondering if i connected the 2 via the sump and a filter sock would that prevent any unwanted hitchhikers from getting into my 180 ( the 58 has a " couple of the tiny vermitid snalls ) and i dont want them in the 180

I don't think it's possible to eliminate vermetids completely, they are in every tank I've ever seen. You control them by controlling nutrients.
