Its been several years since i was in the market to buy/setup an new tank. I am in the process of getting a new tank setup and was looking for some advice.

I am looking to buy a 55-75gal RR tank. The last tank I owned was an Oceanic 90gal RR. Being it has been a while since I have been in the market to buy a new tank, can anyone recommend a quality brand of RR tank would be.

I am also looking for a sump/fuge. Can anyone recommend a quality brand or can put me in touch with someone who can custom make them.

Im also looking for some LS. I like the fine bright white sand. I had Southdown/Yardright in my 90g but I am aware it is almost impossible to find now. Suggestions/recommendations on this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Michael

Welcome back Mike!

I dont know that RC will let you put brand names up but I have an Eshoppes sump and I like it, but as you are probably aware your sump will reflect what you hope to keep in the display. I have seen very effective sumps that were made from a Walmart tote. Another option is to buy a second tank and seperate it into chambers using glass and Silicone (if you do this make sure you do not use the silicone that has mildicide, if you go to Home Depot / Lowes the stuff is Silicone I for windows and doors)

As far as live sand... Purchase dry sand and request via RC a small cup of sand from a seasoned tank (usually people are more than happy to help as long as you pay the overnight shipping), this is the only way to get live sand. This is a pet peve of mine. It bothers me that comercial companies sell live sand.....in an air tight sealled bag.....that is not temperature controlled during shipment......and has been sitting on a shelf for who knows how long. IMO pick dry sand that you like, save money, and get sand out of a mature tank to start your cycle.

If you do a google search for DIY acrylic sumps, there is a site that will help you if you want to go that route, or he will make you one if you want custom.
