Hey All
I'm looking at revamping my sump for my 180 gallon tank and I'm seriously considering getting a new skimmer. I have an ASM G4+ on it right now and I think it does a fair job....but not a great job. This tank has an emperator angel, a harlequin tusk, a singapore angel, a juv. sailfin tang, and a juv. rabbitfish. 65 gallon sump makes it a 245 gallon system. There are some polyp, soft, and LPS corals in there as well.
I have an ASM on my 75 gallon and I'm really happy with it but that tank only has 2 fish in it and doesn't have the bioload the 180 does. The ASM G4+ is a decent skimmer, but it's inconsistant and as a result I've had algae problems in the 180 gallon tank.
So I'm looking for an in sump skimmer for a 245 gallon system with plenty of live rock and a moderatly heavy bioload. I won't say "price is no object" but I don't mind spending money if it's going to save me time and money in the long run. Any help/opinions are appreciated.
Thanks!!!!
