by params good.. what does that mean for you? can you list them please :)
also.. what lighting are you using and where is it in the tank?
Edit:
he may just be in an "acclimation phase" or very annoyed by the epoxy :(

the polyps are more open than when i got them, and ammonia, nitrate all zero nitrite almost zero... other reef specific parameters idk

i am new to these but see this topic http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2033956 .. since this photo the purple coating has been dropping off in clumps,, the polyps seem to hang on for a short time even after the outer shell goes.. but its dieing ..

They like high flow .
Whats used for water flow?

It would be good (important) to also test your phosphate, pH, alk, and Ca!!! and your salinity too! :)

id would say its dieing, with mine it was about lighting /feeding/current as advised on the web, still, mine is dieing

waterflow... 10 gph or something like that? its pretty low. im helping it shed tissue by blowing it with a turkey baster. salinity is 1,023.

Dude u need atleast 25 times the tank size in water flow. You need water flow fast..

Gorgonians like flow. Your nitrites need to be 0. These do not tolerate ammonia and nitrites. You could try to frag pieces of this gorgonian and see if you can save it. What kind of lighting do you have for them?

i also noticed that a lot of my copepods are crawling on the gorgonian... bad? They are feeding on necrotic tissue, I'm afraid

What kind of lighting do you have for them? That's what I would do. I would be surprised if it's dying this quickly for lack of flow.
How do you know it's photosynthetic? I would be making some it some live brine nauplii to try stimulate a feeding response if it's not gobbling whatever you're giving it. Has it eaten? It may be starving and the move used it's last reserves.
Also did it come from a darker tank?
