Cuvette - distortion?

Thought I read somewhere a response to the cuvette grade of glass - it is lab grade. I didn't purchase the special wipes...is it possible to induce distortion by using a t-shirt material to clean/wipe the exterior of the cuvette?

The only possible issue with that is leaving lint behind. If you have an eyeglasses cloth, you can use that.
