Hey guys thinking of upgrading my lights on my 5.5gal. Pretty set on LED's. I'm thinking ether a DIY kit from rapidLED or maybe a small fixture/retro fit. Just wondering whats out there.

Is your tank rimless?

I am using the Ecoxotic EcoPico LED's on my tank right now. I have a 7.5g cube and the lights are great on this tank.

They don't kick out a ton of PAR but they get the job done. I am currently using three strips but plan to add two more when I can.

Like the BOOSTLED and Evil one? I was thinking of trying one because i have a nice fixture but was told that i would have like 3" of dim light on each side. 5.5gal is 18" long and supposedly the bulbs only spread 12". Looks like my best bet is still a kit from RapidLED. Everything else is out of my price rance or won't work.

What kind of optics would i want included in the kit? 40 or 60? I don't think i need them but figured i'd ask.

The ones on rapidled look really good and they come with either 60 or 80 degrees optics I think. On phone so can't look up for you. These look the best to me out of the rest.
