I'd like to make my tank a nice clean rimless tank look. Seeing that the 40 breeder doesn't have a center brace would it be fine to remove the black rim around the tank with a razorblade? Do you guys see any issues? thanks

after doing some research of my own for my 40 breeder, i think that it would be fine. however, one potential issue is that the glass edge on top isn't guaranteed to be clean and smooth, it may be unfinished/rough/sharp/unlevel... I considered doing it myself as well, or possibly adding some DIY eurobracing to be safe.

IME 40B (especially newer ones) can flex a good bit. Personally, I wouldn't risk it.

it is a "brace" called a "rim".
it may hold up for a while rimless, but for how long. is it worth the risk?

My 40b bows a little, I would not take the brace off!
