New to the hobby, bought a refractometer and was wondering which side of the scale to use to determine 23-25. Salinity where it's 1.025 or specific gravity?

e 23-25. Salinity where it's 1.025 or specific gravity?

On the scale 1.026 = 35 ppt = 3.5 %

Here is a scale you can see where 1.026 = 35 ppt. So, your posted 1.025 = 34 ppt.

to add---1.026= 35ppt which is the level of sea water. Randy has also stated (I don't know in what article or the one cited above) that he sees no reason for not keeping the aquarium at 35ppt

1.0264 is the average for natural seawater ,so most invertebrates will appreciate it.
