What are the outside dimensions of the 7 LED par38 bulbs?
Also, how many would I want to provide good light for a 30 x 30 x 24 cube. After researching I was planning to go with 5, arranged like the dots on a die. Will this be enough?

The bulb is 4.75" in diameter (each number after the "PAR" in the title indicates 1/8" in diameter).
What are you planning on keeping inside the tank?

It will be a mixed reef. One of the reasons I am looking at these bulbs is that I can do softies, sps, lps and also low light stuff since the lights seem to create more shadows.

With some SPS in there I think you'd need 6-8 bulbs, I'm not sure 5 is going to be enough light.

Also, how long is the bulb? Total length with the socket threads? What about length without the socket threads?
I am building my canopy and need to know the minimum height I can make it without the bulbs sticking out the bottom. I plan to use low profile sockets from HD or lowes. The canopy will hang...so like I said, my main concern is the bulbs are not visible from viewing angles.
Thanks

Is that even with 60* optics. I had planned on those. I don't mind if the SPS has to be in top half of the tank.

It's about 5.5" long with the screw threads, and about 4.5" without counting the screw threads.
Yes, that's based on the 60's.
