If you have seen the original 1 1/2" version this is the same thing but a mini. If not to summarize it's a silencer for a stand pipe in your overflow. Recently the Maggie Mini has been released. Standard 1" PVC inlet for your stand pipe.

The pluses; It is very quiet, more so than the original. But that could just be due to the smaller amount of water traveling down it. The minis come with a new ring molded inside the top to muffle more sound. It's only two pieces also. Less to loose.

The minuses; The lid is hard to take off, kind of tight, but I think that got fixed. And not really a minus in my system but when i manually top off water in the display or add saltwater after doing a H2O change it can siphon a half of an inch of my water level. Then it goes back to it's normal level. So add water slowly or it might be possible to temperately overshoot the water level in your sump.

They come standard in black, but I managed to get a eye burning orange.
Other than that here are some pics of mine on my 40g.

Hope you could find it in the pics. It tends to blend in to the background. LOL Maybe not.

How much flow can they handle?

The mini should be able to handle as much as the pipe it is on. A 1" pipe should take down 800gph.
