trying to decide how to go on my lighting for my 120.
been doing this a long time and had at least a dozen tanks,however I can't decide on this new setup.
heres my setup,
120 with quiet one 4000 return,tunze 6065 flow,velocity t3 pump on a etss skimmer
keeping softies, lps, soon to get a rbta and can go either way on a clam
electricity bill is mostly on my mind
here are my options for lighting
1. I bought a deep blue 4 bulb T5 fixture it's nice but doesn't seem too bright. 216 watts
2. I was thinking of a solar flare 6 bulb setup overdriven by icecaps from a member but am nervous about the overdriven bulbs needing replacement too often.510 watts
3. I own a pair of 250 hqi pendents with new ushio 10k's. 500 watts
if I go with the solar flare or halides I can ofset the electric by getting out of the 140 watt skimmer pump and going needlewheel.
and no I don't like LED's yet,maybe when they improve with spectrum and price.
so please don't bother bringing them up.
