Tank has been set up since the beginning of May and finished the cycle about 2 weeks ago. For about the past 3 weeks I had the expected diatom bloom and thought nothing about it.

I just went through my weekly water changes and figured it will just go away on it's own. It looked like it was receding as of about a week ago and now it's back full steam. Don't know where I should go from here, any suggestions...

Using RO/DI water from day one, all filters on unit are brand new
Storage container is brute trash can
Originally live rock that was dried for weeks outside
SeaFlor special grade reef sand ( supposed to be silicate free )
Flow is Eheim 1262 and Tunze 6105, another 6105 on order
Minimal lighting, 24 LED, 48 more to come soon
Sump is skimming and doesn't have chaeto at the moment.

PH 8.3
Nitrite 0
Nitrate 0
Ammonia 0

Don't have test kits for the other parameters yet. Naturally I'm having a phosphate problem somewhere, but don't know how.

Thanks

Tim

Are you using RO water or tap water?
