IS there anyway you could make lighting for a reef tank for around 100 bucks? (maybe a bit more). Any ideas?

That would be difficult, yet with out your tank info its impossible to know.

its a 75. 48X18X18. I could probably find one on craigslist for about the same price with much less hassle, huh?

im not sure. I want more of an easier coral. Im new to the reefing idea :)
