I have had a green monti for a few months now. When I bought it, it was solid green color. In the last couple weeks it has started getting a purple tint and is now almost completely covered in the pale purple/greenish color. I was worried at first but I have seen a monti bleach out before and it doesn't seem to be bleaching. I have it pretty low in a 60g cube with a 150w MH. Any thoughts?

Here is a pic, not too great but it is off of my phone. Not sure if you will be able to see, but there are still green some spots that show the previous coloration.

My thought is that it needs more light. Move it higher. ;)

Or it is getting less flow than desirable. Light is the most likely however. Always check alkalinity variance with montipora.

I would also recommend trying to get more light to it. Corals will tend to lose color either due to inadequate light or inadequate nutrition, though the former is more likely to be the case.

Thanks for the info. It is about time I change the bulbs, it has been about 9 months. I started it low to help it acclimate to my lighting and the way it took off and grew I just left it there. I will move it up and change my bulb soon and see how it goes.
