I am currently cycling my new 125 gal tank (72x18x21). It has a 50 gal sump. 120# of LR , 90# LS, refugium with chaeto. I was hoping to use my cpr bak pak skimmer in my sump. I know it is undersized but I am hoping with the fuge it will be ok. I have 90# of the LR in the display and 30 in the sump. I wanted to keep the tank as open as possible to let my coral grow with also keeping a rather large water column.

My current tank is a 36 gal bowfront with the following:

Fish:
ocellaris clown
sixline wrasse
mandarin
flame angel
Tomini Tang

Inverts:
long tip anemone
2 turbo snails
10 nassirus snails
10 dwarf blue hermits
10 astrea snails
bristle worms

The tang was being given away a few weeks ago. I thought he would be ok for a few weeks til the 125 finished cycling.

Planning to add:

ocellaris clown
yellow tang
5 green/blue chromis
Blue jaw triggerfish

The reason I wanted to upgrade to the 125 was to get the trigger, so if anything will be eliminated it will be the chromis or yellow tang or both.
Think this would be overstocked? Planning on doing 10 gal water changes each week. Thanks

I think the trigger will potentially be a bit too aggressive for those tank mates.

I've only heard good things about the blue jaw.

Yeah I also don't know if a trigger would be cool with a occ clown and mandarin. I had a pinktail who was a sissy but he still tried to eat my smaller flame hawk. I lost that trigger and added a couple smaller fish (dwarf puffer/cherub angel) and am letting them grow up a bit, debating if I should risk another trigger as they will be small for awhile yet. I don't know, maybe if you add the trigger very last but I think a mandarin is just too slow moving and easy target.

The trigger will be the last fish added. Maybe I can make him a little blue muzzle:o

I will think more about the trigger and the long term outcome with it and small fish.

I have a Blue Jaw with 2x Chromis and no aggression whatsoever.

How long have they been together? How big is it?

from what i read the blue jaw should be a great addition. One of the most peaceful triggers

Anyone think this is overstocked?
