I've got a question about using dried Live rock. I'm getting ready to set up my 20L and have about 90lbs of Fiji that was pulled from a old reef tank about 7-8 years ago. I'm thinking all I should need to do is give this rock a good rinse and let it cycle right in tank at start up. Is there something I'm missing here or do I need to do something else to it before putting in tank.

Thanks

I would soak in a mild bleach solution first for 24 hrs, then dechlorinate and let it sit for a day in the sun and you would be good to go.

I would soak in ro water and test for phosphates. If you get any reading, you might want to do an acid bath to clean the rock to get rid of any accumulation of phosphates which may have accumulated from the old tank setup. If you don't know if copper was used (fish only setup) you might want to check the water for that too.
