I was moving my live rock around in my tank and I picked up a piece that had this on it. Can someone tell me what this is? It is really hard, kind of looks like a round heat sink or something.

+1 for the plate coral I have those but haven't lost any. I do notice though when I pick one up to move it I feel a serrated edge.

At the moment it is just a rock. Do with it whatever you like.

Keep it in your tank. Tiny tissues (if there are any left) may become tiny Fungia on that skeleton.

Ok, thank you everyone.
I removed it from the rock and placed it down by the sand bed.
