Salt Water Filter Question

Is it possible to run a 110 gal salt water aquarium on just a canister filter? I currently have a fresh water setup, but would like to convert it over to a salt water tank. I am wondering if this filtration system will work or do I need to drill my tank and install a sump?

You don't have to drill, but a sump is really better. You use a canister for basic flow and have lots of liverock in your tank.

You can run a 110 w/ zero sump or external filtration if you know what you are doing.

What type of livestock are you wanting to keep? That's the most important thing to know.
