impeller shaft

i need to build an impeller shaft for a pump i have. The pump is a little older and I can not find the impeller . Contacted the company and was told to make a shaft or buy a new pump. Where can I buy a rod for this type of project ?

use carbon fiber.
go to a RC hobby store. they sell it in many different sizes, so take thold one with you. the shafts are dirt cheap and strong.

they use them for helicopter servo shafts.

but oregonreefer, its the DIY forum not the For sale forum. Also besides Carbon fiber, wooden dowels will get you out of a pinch. I know from experience.
